I found the All There Is podcast very early after my husband died, and I’ve listened to nearly every episode since. I find it deeply honest, open, and real. Anderson Cooper interviews people who have experienced many different kinds of loss, and hearing how others walk with their grief has been meaningful for me.
He also sometimes shares voicemails from listeners describing their own loss and grief. The episodes can be heavy and emotional, and I’ve often wondered why I find them so helpful. One caller explained it this way:
“One of the things I’ve come to understand is that my grief is useful to other people who are in grief, and their grief is useful to me. Sort of like driving in a whiteout snowstorm—if you see headlights in front of you, it helps you feel like there’s a path you’re on, and space to move forward.”
That image captures exactly how I feel, and why I created Solas Together.
If you’ve listened, I’d love to hear what resonated with you. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
